Clara Marie Kneib, 99, entered eternal life on October 16, 2012 in Pueblo, Colorado. Clara was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on February 23, 1913 to August J. Gerteisen and Ida M. Baumer. She lived in northwest Missouri area most of her childhood. She married Alphonse P. Kneib on September 14, 1944 at Seven Dolors Church. He preceded her in death in 1982. In 2004, Clara moved to Pueblo, Colorado where she lived with her daughter. Besides being a housewife and mother, Clara worked at the rectory of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church as a housekeeper for 19 years. She is a former member of St. Patrick's parish in St. Joseph where she was a long time member of the Altar Society. Among her many pastimes, gardening, quilting and raising houseplants were her favorite. Besides her husband and parents, Clara was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph H. Gerteisen, and a grandson. She is survived by a daughter, Helen (John Ercul) in Pueblo; two sons Walter (Arlana) Kneib in Owasso, Oklahoma and Mark Kneib in Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a niece Carol Gerteisen from San Jose, California. Viewing, 5-7 pm, Friday, Oct. 19, followed by a rosary at 7 pm, both at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. Therese on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 10:30 am. She will be interred at Mount Olivet Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri where she will be laid next to her husband. There will be a viewing and prayer service at Horigan Chapel prior to interment at 10:30 am Monday, October 22.
