

Born on September 7, 1931, in Penrose, Colorado, Connie was raised in Pueblo, where he spent the majority of his life. Remembered for being quiet, good-natured, and a kind soul, Connie had a gentle spirit that made him easy to be around. His easygoing nature and sense of fun left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
A multi-talented individual, Connie had a remarkable ability to fix almost anything. His practical skills and resourcefulness were admired by many and often brought comfort and help to family and friends alike.
Connie is survived by his his beloved wife of 40 years Annamae “Sally” Wawrzyczny and his beloved dog Hershey. He is lovingly remembered by his sister Beth Collins (Jim) his daughters Debra Thiessen (John) and Julie Jackson (Greg); and stepsons James Duren (Kathryn) and Robert Duren (Jody).
Connie was a proud grandparent to Sam Goure (Alicia), Jason Goure (Colette), Lauren Leggitt (Gary), Michael Taylor, Jamie Rice, Riley Duren (Serena), Kayleigh Warren, Miranda Duren-Trujillo (David), and Robert Duren Jr., as well as a great-grandpa to twenty great-grandchildren who brought joy to his later years. His loving family includes nephews Ron Renoux (Glenda) and Ron Collins (Cassie), along with niece Diana Collins.
Connie was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad Sr. and Elizabeth Wawrzyczny; sister Lucille Renoux (Kenneth); and nephew Conrad Renoux.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to caretaker and friend Celina Padilla for her devotion and care.
Special thanks also go to the compassionate team at Interim Home Health nurses Rikki, Leanne, Jennifer, Victoria, Mara and all those who provided care during Connie’s last few years.
A celebration of life for Connie will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Homes, 329 Goodnight Ave, Pueblo, CO 81004.
