

He was born in Lamar, Colorado on June 5th, 1927. Don was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, 2 brothers and a grandson. He is survived by his wife, Alice of 64 years, daughter, Caryn Bloyd (Jim) Swagerty, sons, Steve Bloyd, Brent (Sue) Bloyd, Brian (Teri) Bloyd, 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. Don married the love of his life, Alice, on July 21, 1957. He worked for the Pueblo Power Company (Centel) for 33 years and retired in 1991. Don had an amazing, productive and happy life. He built a home for his family from the ground up with much persistence, determination and love. Don was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed being involved in his church, community and helping others throughout his lifetime. Upon retiring, he enjoyed traveling to many places. He loved spending time with family and friends. Don liked to do woodworking and make things for loved ones. He enjoyed planting and harvesting a garden every year. Don could tackle almost anything and was always ready for a new challenge. He was highly respected by family, friends and colleagues.
Don's memorial service will be held at Vineland United Methodist Church on April 2nd, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests donations be made to Vineland United Methodist Church, 1587 36th Lane, Pueblo, CO.
