Emma Martinez, born June 5, 1918, in Durango, Colorado, left this earth on May 2, 2016. We are heartbroken at her departure, but know that she is rejoicing with the Saints in Heaven. Emma and Alfonso “Red” Martinez, Sr., were married for 58 years. Her son “Sonny” Martinez, passed away in 2015. Surviving are daughter, Patti Jo (Bob Miranda), daughter-in-law, Leslie Martinez, 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Emma and Red were both employed for many years at the Pueblo Army Depot. They also enjoyed activities in Shriners and Daughters of the Nile. You could find them on Pueblo dance floors nearly every weekend in their younger days. Emma played piano all her life, and she loved music. She was also known for her passion for fashion. Her family was all important to her, as was her relationship with her Heavenly Father. Viewing will be held Friday, May 6, at 1 p.m., followed by a celebration of Emma’s home going at 2 p.m. Imperial Chapel, 5450 W. Highway 78.
