

Wanda “Faye” Purvis, 97 of Beulah, passed on June 8, 2023. Born May 5, 1926 to Lyle and Edith Atkinson in Fargo, Oklahoma, she was the 8th of 11 siblings and second to last to leave this Earth. After moving to Colorado at the age of 12, she graduated from Centennial High School in 1944. On August 1, 1946 she married Bob Purvis and they shared 73 years together. She had two children and worked hard to make a great life for her family. She helped run Purvis Saddle Horses and farmed hay across Beulah Valley. A beloved school bus driver in the Beulah and Rye communities, she retired at 62. Faye loved to sew, cook for family and friends, garden, watch her stories, and spend time with family. She was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Faye is survived by her brother; Keith Atkinson, children, son; William (Bill) Purvis, daughter; Deborah Marroney, grandchildren; Jodi (Kelly) Bond, Chad (Krista) Browning, Cari (Brent) Micala-Dexter, Crystal Bensik (Brett Sabott), Kindi (Matthew) Medina, Craigin (Scott) Patterson, Cale (Kari) Purvis, Great-grandchildren; Wesley, Kelby, Tylor, Cassidy, Shelby, Caleb, Neveah, Mathaes, Nayla Fae, Aspen, Wylie, Peyton, Javi, Evin, Emery, Lauren, Cayla, Cait, Caleb, Chole, Colton, great-great grandchildren; Mason and Grant. Numerous nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.
Her celebration of life will be held June 23 at the Beulah Community Center at 4:00pm. We invite everyone to bring a dessert to share.
