

Tino passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
Tino graduated from Central High School, Class of 1952.
He served in the US Navy from 1952-1956 as a communicator where he mastered morse code. He was a proud Korean War veteran.
Tino retired from the US Postal Service, as a mail carrier, in 1997 after 37 years of service. He loved his job because he was able to meet so many people who ended up his life-long friends.
Tino was a working man. He worked a second job as a bartender in 1960 at the Pueblo Country Club. From there he would be asked to tend bar at private parties which eventually led him to the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center. He was the first contracted bartender and worked there 42 years before retiring at the age of 82. He was known for his friendly smile, his gentleman ways and his great memory. He was known for remembering someone’s drink after serving them only once. He, along with his family worked the bar at the Arts Center, Rosemount Museum, the stomp on, numerous wedding receptions, fund raisers, anniversaries, galas and graduation parties.
Tino was a people person and treated everyone with respect. He was a gentleman's gentleman.
He was a music man – he started his day listening to Luis Miguel, Ronnie Milsap, George Strait and many others.
He loved to golf and was so proud when he hit his first hole-in-one at the Elmwood Golf Course.
He loved traveling with his family. As he got older, having his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in his home was the highlight of his day.
Tino loved his family, especially his wife of 70 years, Helen. He would always tell his children how lucky he was to have such a beautiful wife.
Tino is preceded in death by numerous family members: Parents, Eliseo and Domitila Herrera; Parents In-Law, Jose and Carlota Medina; Sisters, Alice Sena (Albert), Molly Rocha and brother Wilfred Herrera; In-Laws, Mike Medina (Cecilia), Nash Medina (Mary), Lucy Garcia (Jess), Mary Navares (Al), Angie Ayala (George), Tomi Trujillo (Tony Espinoza) (Chuck Trujillo), Joe Medina (Mary), Espie Leyba, Vikki Olivas (Gene) and brother in-law Andy Bobian.
Survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Helen Herrera; five children, Monica (Larry), Marisa (Fred), Marina, Marla and Tino (De De); five grandchildren, Matt (Steph), Cody, Haylee, Sydney (Isiah), Camryn (Benny); five great-grandchildren, Kruze, Nash, Leia, Bria and Lennox; Sister, Christina Herrera and sisters in-law, Virginia Bobian and Martha Herrera and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Tino will take place on Sunday, November 30th at the Pueblo Union Depot, 132 W. B Street 1:00 – Veteran Honors Ceremony, followed by a grandchildren tribute.
