

Frances Louise (Vialpando) Aragon a longtime Pueblo resident passed away peacefully on August 28, 2017. She was a good wife, mother, grandmother and teacher that loved her family, dancing and Bingo. She was born on March 9, 1935 in LaVeta, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Feliz Martinez, in-laws Macedonio & Amalia Vialpando; siblings Ross, Rose, Cecil, Lee, Johnny and Mary; her first husband Ernest Vialpando and second husband Robert Aragon. Survived by her siblings Marty, Reynold (Evelyn) Martinez, Paula Romero, Evelyn (Duane) Yingling; daughters Phyllis Vigil, Lottie Serna and Sonya Vialpando and step-daughters Charlene (Michael) Aragon-Brumfield, Karen Aragon and Roberta (Mark) Aragon-Shannon; her grandchildren Daniela Plascencia, Nicol Esquibel, Mario Serna and Carlos (Melissa Sena) Serna. Also survived by great-grandchildren Monica, Emelio (Montana). Antonio, Jaered, Ra’Shawn, Jayvon, Julian, Devin, Raquel, Alissa, Carlos, Marisol, Lorenzo, Carlissa and great-greatgrandchildren Jaramia, Jasmine and Mariana; and many nieces & nephews plus godchildren David Romero, Lori Herrera and Nicol Esquibel. Frances worked for District #60 for 27 years (9 years as a teacher’s aide and 18 years as a teacher - most of them at Bradford Elementary school 1st grade). She graduated from LaVeta high school in 1954 and received her bachelor of arts degree from University of Southern Colorado in 1979 and a master’s in bilingual education from University of Colorado, Boulder in 1984.
Services will be held Saturday September 2, 2017; rosary 10:30AM with funeral mass to follow at 11:00AM St. Anne’s Catholic Church 2701 E. 12th Street Pueblo, CO.
