

Gordon Ray “Buck” McDowell passed away at home March 21, 2015, at the age of 83. Buck was born March 13, 1932, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marlene McDowell; his parents, Ray and Lucille McDowell; sister, Shirley Ham; and brothers, Gerald McDowell and William McDowell. Survived by his sons, Mike (Jean) McDowell and Kenny (Kathy) McDowell; and daughters, Peggy Harley and Carolyn (Nolan) Dickinson; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by his loving sisters, Carole “Pic” (J.A.) Carmack and Elaine (Raymond) Nation; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. He retired after 30 years at the CF&I, followed by his second retirement of nearly 25 years of work (and play) at the Walking Stick and Desert Hawk golf courses. Buck loved golf, fishing, music and especially family. He was a devoted son and brother and uncle, a loving husband, dad and grandpa and a friend to everyone he ever met. He will be deeply missed by all. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at SonRise Church in Pueblo West. In addition, the family invites you to join with them for lunch, drinks and memories in a celebration of Buck's life following the service 11am - 2 pm, March 27, 2015, at the VFW Hall in Pueblo West.
