Ina Jo Davis, 83, of Canon City (formerly rural Westcliffe and rural Villegreen), went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 22nd in Pueblo, Colorado. She passed peacefully in her sleep into the arms of Jesus. She was born February 13, 1937 in Trinidad, Colorado to Earl and Edna (Fesler) Reagan. She attended school through 8th grade at the Villegreen one-room schoolhouse. She graduated from Kim High School in May of 1955. From there she moved to Colorado Springs, living with close friends and working at the local utilities company. She married Allen Davis on November 18, 1955 upon his return from military service in Germany.
They lived in Pueblo, Colorado for a while before moving to their mountain ranch near Ilse, Custer County in the late fifties, raising their family there. She enjoyed being a ranch wife and a mother, often seen driving her girls to meet the school bus on Hosa Flats. In the early nineties, she and her husband began dividing their time between their mountain home and their ranch at Villegreen. In 2015, they moved to their permanent residence in Canon City.
In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters: Amy (Rick) Perschbacher and Gayla (Kevin) Day, five grandchildren: Monty(Kara) Wood, Cody Day, Brittany (Aaron) Young, Casey (Stephanie) Day, and Kelly (Zach) Kruis, two step-grandchildren: Tate (Melani) Perschbacher and Charity Perschbacher, ten great-grandchildren: Taylor Brown, Mason Wood, Jack Ryan Tryon, Daniel Day, Alivia Day, Renae Day, Cohen Kruis, Zoe Kruis, Abel Kruis, and Levi Kruis, one great-great-grandchild, Ava Corbett, one brother, Carl (Joan) Reagan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Ralph Reagan and Ray Reagan, infant son, Jason Cleve Davis, and granddaughter Mandy Wood Tryon.
Ina loved the country life, riding horses, watching fawns play and hummingbirds at their feeders. Flower gardening was a favorite activity. She enjoyed baking special treats, especially apple and rhubarb pies, to share at home and at the Wetmore Community Church dinners and making special occasion dishes for her grandchildren. She loved her church family dearly. One of her favorite things to do was play card and domino games with friends and family. She really enjoyed listening to music, including her daughters and friends singing and playing guitar. A special treat for her was listening to granddaughter Kelly’s fiddle playing and singing. She was a devoted and loving Christian wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. Any memorial contributions received by the family will be donated to her favorite charities supporting homeless children and children’s hospitals.
