Mr. James Woodford "Jim" Bowles, age 76, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado. Born on March 28, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, Jim lived a full and vibrant life rooted deeply in his home state.
Jim’s professional journey reflected his dedication and work ethic. He served as the manager of Bonanza Buffet and later as the kitchen manager at Rocky Flats. His leadership and culinary skills left a lasting impression on colleagues and patrons alike.
A proud Eagle Scout during his high school years, Jim carried the values of service and integrity throughout his life. He was known for his great sense of humor, kindness, and remarkable cooking talents—qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.
Jim had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished time spent at the family cabin. He was an amazing gardener whose green thumb brought beauty to every space he touched. A member of the Colorado Dahlia Society, he found joy in cultivating both plants and friendships.
His interests were as diverse as they were passionate. Jim enjoyed reading and ballroom dancing, often bringing grace and rhythm to the dance floor. Though he preferred staying close to home, he occasionally traveled when lovingly persuaded by his sister. A devoted fan of Colorado sports teams, Jim especially loved watching the Broncos win—and made no secret of his disappointment when they didn’t.
Faith was a cornerstone of Jim’s life. A dedicated Christian and lifelong member of the Cameron United Methodist Church, he remained steadfast in his beliefs from birth until his passing.
Jim is lovingly remembered by his sister Cheryl Lamiell; niece Tonia Doniec and her husband Andy; nephew Ben Lamiell and his wife Rachel; and by many friends who were touched by his warmth and generosity.
May Jim’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire kindness, laughter, and love.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 24, 2026, from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Cameron United Methodist Church (1600 S Pearl St. in Denver, CO) to honor a life well-lived and deeply cherished. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
