After graduating from Centennial High School in San Luis, CO (1962), Jim joined the Navy, serving as an electrician’s mate on a diesel submarine. He was injured and honorably discharged after three years of service. After additional training, he began a career as a Computer Technician with Mountain Bell, U.S. West, and Qwest where he retired. After retirement, Jim established a home business fixing computers.
He enjoyed fishing, boating, motorcycles, fixing cars, watching movies and garage sales. Over the years he had many dogs, the latest being an American bulldog who he nicknamed “Freaky”. Jim had a humorous side to him and loved a good joke. He enjoyed being around and helping others and often shared a joke or a tale (or two).
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannine (Jean), his parents Ruben and Corinne (Padilla) Navarro, and his siblings Doris (Jerry) Wilcox and Ruben Daniel (Velma) Navarro. He is survived by siblings David Navarro, Thomas Navarro, Patricia Navarro and Victoria (George) Quintana- and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, his wife’s family, and friends.
An outdoor service will be held at the Imperial Gardens Veterans Court of Honor on Friday, April 29th at 2:00 p.m., located at 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, CO.
Jim's urn will be placed in a Veteran Columbarium Niche.
Refreshments will be served at the Imperial Gardens reception hall following the service.
