My auntie Jenny was my everything I spent some of my best childhood memories with her and uncle casto and the najar girls met some of my cousins Alfred and janine 😊 My auntie Jenny would come to Denver and ask my mom who was Mae Victoria Pena Lucero if she could take me for the summers back in the day, times I will never forget, father in heaven please give auntie and uncle,Bobby and uncle tino and uncle Alex hugs from me Ronnie  ( Randy) like auntie used to call me sometimes, I miss you all😔

  What a life my mom lived.  You name it and she almost did it. I will miss my mom everyday for the rest of my life. I cherish every memory we had together. The good and the not so good.When we were growing up she worked all the time, different shifts and different days off so when she was home she would cook and bake good stuff.  My favorite was her stew and fresh baked bread. Mom loved to read,chrochet,sew,knit you name it.  If she didn't know how to do something she would give it a try. Of the many things mom taught me was how to shop at the "segunda's". As a teenager I would wait in the car for cause I didn't want anybody to see me in there. Mom would come out with a sweater or blouse and I would wear it the next day. "You always find a bargin at "willie's". Some day's I miss her so much! I was at the market going down the applesauce isle and I just burst out crying. That was one of the treat's I'de take her. I have day's where I need to fill my time cause that was when I would go be with her. Of course I have memories of Dad, Roy and Bob too. That's all I have now are the memories. When I make cream of wheat I think of Tia Hank(and I make it alot). On one of our visits to Milliken(many moon's ago) I was standing by the stove and tia was stirring something. I asked her what it was and she showed me and explained how she made it. She was always so beautiful looking. One thing I know is that I will see Mom again and that helps me today. I thank my brother Joe for doing this guest book of mom. It was a generous thing to do, out of love for her. I'll put more entries as time goes by and I appreciate all who remember mom. It warmes my heart to know you care enough to share your thoughts of my dear and precious mom. God bless you all.   Loni

Hey Cousin Butch. Its Nene. My mother named me Nestorita so don't think Butch is so different. I'm number 10!  I think that it is so very nice that you have kept my auntie's legacy so alive. I have enjoyed reading it. I miss her too! Everytime I look into my dad's eye's I see my auntie Jennie!  They look a like! Hard to believe how time passes so fast these days. I have had a wonderful family full of memories.  Like you and my sisters Berline & Shirley.    I see your niece's (Mogie's daughter's) all the time. My Dad is 94 and is still "sharp"!

Hello Mom, its been five months already since you went to join our Lord and Dad and Roy and Bobby in heaven, we miss you all and we keep you all in our hearts and thoughts. All of us kids (Joseph,Leilani,Yolanda,Felipe,Mogie) placed some beautiful flowers on your grave on your 92nd Birthday September 18th 2010, most of us placed "Purple" flowers on your grave cause that was your favorite color, we hope you liked them all as you looked down on us that day. Mom we miss you all, but we know your happy being with our Lord and Dad and Roy and Bobby. We are doing fine and think about you always. We all look forward to the day when we will once again be together in Heaven with all of you. God Bless and we Love You.

I have so many memories of my grandma its hard to pick which to share.  Growing up she and Grandpo Casto would babysit me and my brother.  I used to hate when she would comb my hair because she would pull so hard and make my braids so tight.  She would always cut rhubarb from her yard and make rhubarb with strawberries for me.  I used to love going through all of her jewelry and her lipsticks.  She used to wear the most beautiful plum lipstick.  She had perfect lips.  I remember on Sundays she and grandpa would come over after church.  They were always dressed so nice.  Grandma was a strong woman before I knew what a strong woman meant.  She was independent.  She loved herself.  She took care of herself.  She was the leader of our family and always spoke the truth whether we liked what we heard or not.  Grandma used to always ask me about my boyfriends.  She used to call them my "big moment" -- So whose your big moment now? -- she would ask.  I would tell her and she would always give me advice and tell me about how I didn't need anyone.  I needed to be happy and do things for me.  As she got older and quieter, I missed that.  I still wanted to talk to her about my life but I couldn't.  But I'll never forget who she was and what she represents to me.  Because of her, I am able to be the strong, independent woman that I am and I truly believe that despite all of the differences amongst the women in our family, the one thing that we all can say in this life is that we came from a strong woman.

My thought and prayers are with the Najar family and most of all my grandpa Joe. I love you grandpa and I am sending you hugs from afar!

Our Mom was everything to us since we had lost our Dad in December 1991.  All of us kids have many memories of our Mom, I remember living in this small town called Milliken, Colorado and in the evenings after supper our Mom would read stories out of magazines to all of us including Dad.  Our Mom was a excellent cook, she used to say to me that she cooked better without recipes, cause when she would try to use a recipe for what ever she was going to make it wouldn't come out right.  She would make this dessert she called Apple Crunch for all of us from fresh apples and make sure each one of us kids had one to take home with us.  Our Mom loved to do ceramics and many other different crafts.  She was in a bowling team and was good at it.  She loved pets, especially dogs, and she had many in her life time.  One that was very special to both of us was a cute Pomeranian she named "Rocky", she had Rocky for a couple of years and he was a joy for her cause it was only Rocky and her.  She ended up giving Rocky to me and my wife after she had to move from her apartment to a Assisted Living Arrangement because she was having a hard time living by her self.  Every chance we had to visit Mom we would bring Rocky and both of them were so glad to see each other, Rocky never forgot Our Mom, he was a complete joy to both our Mom and my wife and I till he passed away in 2009 after living over 14 years, he was truely a God send for Mom and my wife and I.  With the passing of our Mom, we can say that she is finally in heaven with our Dad and Roy and Bobby our two brothers who have also passed away.  We the remaining kids will truely miss them all but know they are all with the Lord in Heaven.

It was an honor to know Mrs. Jane for the time I did. She was such a blessing to my life. She was so proud of her family.You all did a wonderful job in taking the role to make everything so possible. When Lita would come and decorate her room so she knew what month it was and planting her flowers so she could see  out the window. Lonnie curling her hair and making her day brighter. Angelina bringing her a plant and giving her french fries which she loved. I am so proud of you and I know she is too you took the time to show her what she means to you. My prayers and thoughts are with you in this time of sorrow.
