Joe Valdez Jr., a proud U. S. Marine, has been called to guard duty for the gates of heaven on October 25, 2015. Preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents, Joe & Mary; brothers, Fidel & Mike; sisters, Theresa, Mary & Helen. He is survived by his children, Jim (Debbie) Valdez, Sandi Alcon, Janice Valdez (Rick Leyba), Yolanda Lomdahl; grandchildren, Shannon Valdez, Romeka (Adam) Ditto, Aaron (Jill) Valdez, Lexie Alcon, Amber (Travis) Bliss, Gina (Gerard) Montoya, Nikolas Curtis, Rikki Leyba, Mariah Leyba, Stormy Leyba; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Pime (Sally) Valdez; sisters, Annie Ryan, Esther Johnson; and numerous other relatives. He loved being with family, and enjoyed the company of many of his grand kids. Viewing will be 2-5 p.m., Friday, at T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home with the Rosary to follow at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday , October 31, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic Church.
