We are saddened to announce the passing of John Brigadore Baros, who peacefully departed on June 25, 2025, at his home in Pueblo, Colorado. John was 96 years old. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Martha M. Baros, with whom he shared 74 beautiful years of marriage.
Born in Mora, New Mexico, John was the son of Benjamin Baros and Mary Chavez. He dedicated his life to service, beginning with his time in the Army Air Corps and Air Force, and later retiring from the Civil Service. Even after retirement, he continued to give back by volunteering at the Pueblo VA Nursing Home for 13 years, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his fellow veterans.
John will be lovingly remembered as a devoted father to his seven children, and a cherished grandfather to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He lived a life of selfless service, not only to his family but to anyone in need. When asked how he was, he would always respond, "Fine and Dandy," a testament to his stoic and resilient nature, even in challenging times. He never sought additional care or concern, remaining "stoic John" until the very end.
We invite you to join us in celebrating John's remarkable life and legacy on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at St. Leander Catholic Parish, 1402 E. 7th Street, Pueblo, CO 81001.
