John Emmer Dolman (Jiggs), 89, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2021. He was born on December 23, 1931 in Pueblo, Colorado to Mae (Leffler) Chamberlin and John E. Dolman. John is survived by daughters, Kathy (Lynn) Burleson, Colette Chorak, grandchildren Amber (Matt) Carleo, Clayton Burleson, great grandchildren Logan and Roman Carleo, as well as numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Vivian (Campbell), precious daughter Celeste Melton, brothers Nick Kochevar Jr., and David Kochevar. John attended Central High School and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Once a marine, always a marine are words he lived by. Jiggs married the love of his life Vivian, on May 20, 1952. They became proud parents to three beautiful daughters, his absolute pride and joy. He loved spending time with his family above all. He became a police officer for the Pueblo Police Department where he mostly enjoyed being a motorcycle patrolman. He retired from the PPD in 1974 on disability. This position led to his passion for the Harley Davidson motorcycle, which gave way to many travels on the open road. He enjoyed fishing, restoring antique cars and furniture, building model airplanes/boats/cars, and traveling with the “old car club”. Once he had grandchildren, he found a renewed joy in taking care of others, which led to him becoming a dedicated caretaker for his own wife, for her last 26 years. His faith and devotion carried him through the heart-break many times over. Regardless of all of the troubles he experienced, he never complained. His outlook on life and the way he treated others made him the most honorable role model we could have ever asked for. Those closest to him could always attest to his selflessness, generosity, empathy for others and positive nature even through tragic times. His story-telling abilities were unmatched, the memories of his life that he was always so proud to share and his sense of humor never failed. He truly loved making us laugh with his witty jokes, silly words and slap-stick tricks. He will be deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to be blessed by his presence, but we know that he is now free of pain and at peace, dancing with all of our angels.
