He was born May 19, 1984, in Pueblo, CO, to Joseph and Nancy (Zupancic) Frank. John attended North Mor Elementary, Niver Creek Middle School and Northglenn High School, graduating in 2003. He excelled academically receiving awards and winning Spelling Bee honors in elementary and middle school, holding third chair while learning to play the violin in middle school, and being accepted into the International Baccalaureate Program in high school.
During his school years, he played basketball, Little League baseball, football, and bowling. Basketball was his passion. He especially enjoyed playing basketball at the Northglenn and Stapleton Rec Centers with his brothers and friends on the Northwind Team. He continued to play recreational basketball through his adulthood. He went to the local skating rink weekly for rollerblading fun. He also reluctantly took dance lessons. He loved playing in the neighborhood basketball, flag football and roller hockey games. His hobby was collecting Xmen, Marvel, and a variety of sports cards, making frequent visits to the neighborhood card store with his two brothers.
Shortly after high school graduation, he began college at Metro State. He returned two years ago to pursue completion of his bachelor’s degree in marketing. We recently discovered he had completed 80 credit hours.
He was a dedicated hard worker which began when he was seventeen with his first job at 1st Bank, then going on to Safeway for thirteen years. He was currently an employee of Walmart in Pueblo, CO, where he had served as an Associate/Team Lead for over four years.
He was previously married to the love of his life, Jessica, on November 1, 2009. To this union, two children, Ehmmah and Rilynn were born. They shared fifteen years of time together with many wonderful memories.
His favorite pastimes were spending time with his daughters, watching sports and movies, working out and bowling. He also attended yearly Avalanche games with Jessica.
He enjoyed listening to all different kinds of music and singing karaoke. Special family gatherings at his family home would include after dinner karaoke sessions with his two daughters, Jessica, and his parents, with his mom doing the filming and taking pictures. Favorite meals of John were chicken tacos and his dad’s delicious spaghetti with mom’s garlic-French bread.
He dearly loved his two children, Ehmmah and Rilynn. He looked forward to their special daddy-daughter trips together to watch either a Bronco, Rockies or Nuggets game, and the Halloween fun they had as they all dressed up in their favorite costumes to go trick or treating. He enjoyed precious time with them playing board games, Legos, and taking sledding excursions when it snowed. He loved practicing basketball with Rilynn, coaching her little league basketball team, and watching Ehmmah learn and excel in her gymnastics.
