Joseph “Mick” Santos of Pueblo, Colorado passed away on March 16, 2025 at the age of 87. Mick was a force of life that will be forever missed and cherished. Mick was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Santos Sr. and Lupe Gallegos Santos; niece, Sandy Garcia; nephew, Thomas Santos Jr.; and sister-in-law, Florence Santos.
Mick is survived by his children Michael Santos (Brenda) and Sherrie Santos; grandson, Cordero Santos (Jennifer) and great-grandson, Cordero Santos Jr.; brother, Tom Santos and sister Mary Louise Santos Hodges (Terry); longtime partner, Nancy Smith; nieces, Kathy Palin (Ben), Laurie (Larry) Bowman, Alisa (Alper) Sunar and numerous extended family and friends.
Mick attended Central High, where he was a standout 3 sport athlete, lettering in baseball, basketball and football. Mick graduated with a degree in Teaching from Adams State College, where he also quarterbacked for the football team. Mick was a military veteran, and worked as a teacher in Pueblo’s District 60 for over 30 years.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 CO-78, Pueblo, CO 81005.
Reception to follow at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Cultural Hall, 4720 Surfwood Lane.
