Joyce Wilson, 61, lifetime resident of Pueblo, passed away unexpectedly, February 5, 2021. She was born July 28, 1959 to the late Earl and Corinne (Jamieson) Wilson. She graduated from South High School with the class of 1977. Among various jobs, she served as a dispatcher for the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department for many years, and joyously served as a CNA assisting those with health needs while providing companionship and friendship.
Joyce is survived by her loving son, Brandon Wilson, sisters Glenda (Wayne) Lewis, Gail (Pavel) Kozhevnikov, Carol Dowdy, and brother David Wilson. She was cherished by her niece Kim (Weston) Burrer, great-nephew Evan Burrer, and great-niece Emily Burrer, nephew, Dr. Eric Lewis, and niece Bonnie Wilson.
Joyce was a feisty, independent, industrious, hardworking single mom who possessed a zany sense of humor. She stood out in a crowd with her signature, gorgeous red hair. She never met an animal she didn’t instantly fall in love with and welcomed many of them into her home to be loved upon and spoiled. Her favorite meal was chocolate milk and cookies, although she made a mean green chili. She loved all things Disney, especially Mickey Mouse, and loved to crochet and craft.
May she rest in eternal peace; she will be missed by her loving family and friends. Private services will be held at Imperial Funeral Home, Friday, February 12 at 2:00p.m.
