

Kenneth E. Baird (94) of Pueblo, CO. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born July 16, 1922 in Pueblo to Otto and Mabel Baird. Passed from this life on March 27, 2017 in Pueblo.
Longtime resident of both Pueblo and Colorado Springs. Preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years Margaret (Michalek) Baird and his second wife Marjorie (Allen) Baird, his parents, and his sister Phyllis (Baird) Luiz.
Survived by his 3 children, Kathy (Jim) Walton of Fairplay, CO, Ken (Sharon) Baird of Louisville, CO and Tom (Donna) Baird of Colorado Springs. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken attended Pueblo Centennial High School, was a three sport athlete, involved in many student activities and graduated in 1941. He then joined the Marine Corps in 1942. He served in the South Pacific during WWII and at Camp Pendleton during the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in action during WWII. After returning home from WWII, he attended the University of Colorado and held several different jobs before beginning a career in banking. He started his career at the Minnequa Bank of Pueblo, moved to the First National Bank of Pueblo before joining the First National Bank of Colorado Springs, where he held the position of Senior Vice President of Operations. He finished his career as President of The Bank of Manitou, retiring from that position in 1986.
Services will be held on Saturday April 29th at 10:30 am at Christ The King Catholic Church in Pueblo, with inurnment at Roselawn Cemetery and reception following.
