

KIRSTEN LAYNE DJURIC-STEPHENSON, 18 years old, departed earth to fly with angels on October 19, 2014, in Pueblo, CO. Kirsten graduated from Central High School and PCC Gateway to College Program, receiving her high school diploma along with 21 college credits in 2014. Kirsten was awarded ‘Outstanding Student of Gateway to College’ in the Business and Advanced Technology Division at PCC. Kirsten recently was attending, with scholarships, Johnson and Wales University in Aurora, studying culinary arts. Kirsten’s goal was to be a chef on cruise ships and travel the world. Kirsten will be traveling with angels now. Kirsten’s slogan in life was “you can’t have too many friends.” Her family “meant the world to her and wouldn’t trade that for the world”. Kirsten enjoyed cooking, camping, riding ATVs, fishing, hiking and eating smores and most of all, listening to her favorite music. She was a very loving, caring and impressionable person. Kirsten leaves behind her mother and stepfather, Kalysta Djuric and Rob Upton; her father and stepmother, Jeremy Stephenson and Tina Young; her great-grandfather, Gene Odette; grandparents, Earl and Eugenia Djuric, Jim Upton and Robin Stephenson, and George Stephenson; stepbrother, Max Upton and Amanda; stepsisters, Julie Smith and Ryan, and Nikia Young; nephews, Robby, Lucas and DJ; nieces, Elysia, Kadence and Brooke; uncles, Chris and Patrick Stephenson, Jasson and Tawna Upton; aunt, Candysue Upton; many great aunts and uncles, cousins, as well as many friends. She will be greeted by many relatives and friends, and will be missed by many, many more. Viewing will be 2-7 p.m., Monday, at TG McCarthy Funeral Home.
