

Lori Renee Posey, born April 22, 1961, left this life unexpectedly and tragically May 26, 2017 in a senseless motor vehicle accident. Lori is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Sheppard of the family home; Children Shayne O’Bannen, Shelayne (Andrew) Sheppard, Tausanee “Kodie” Sheppard, Brandi Del-a-Cruz, Ginney Sheppard, Jody Sheppard, David (Bobbie Jo) Sheppard, and Zachariah Sheppard; Parents Janet and Robert Posey; Grandchildren Caitlyn Sheppard , Carrisa Sheppard, John Gober, Nic Gober, Lyden Del-A- Cruz, Isabella Woolery, Emma Sheppard, OJ Sheppard, Morgan Sheppard, Dulaney Sheppard, Jeremiah Sheppard, Leslie Rose Sheppard and , Thomas Jeremiah Sheppard, Jr.; Sisters Erica (Andy) Hildebrand, Robin (Buddy) Lambrecht, William (Linda) Seder, Donald (Judy) Seder, Janice (Cullen) Wall, Loretta (William) Way, Merilee (James) Briggs-Mead; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom and Lori are expecting their first great grandchild in December 2017. Proceeded in death by Merle L. Sheppard and Carol C. Sheppard. Lori R. Posey graduated from Canon City High School in 1980 and went on to become a graduate of nursing At Pueblo Community College in 1994. After becoming a registered nurse, Lori touched the hearts and lives of many people in multiple areas. She obtained many certifications such as ACLS, PALS and Critical care and had once strived for a certification as a Flight for life Nurse. Lori had an adventurous spirit and was always looking to try fun things. Her favorite things to do was anything that had something to do with her children. In her spare time Lori enjoyed running on the hottest days with her dogs, listening to classic rock and roll while cleaning the house, spending time with her husband, but most of all, she enjoyed helping and giving back to people. She spent the majority of her time encouraging and showing people the love she knew deeply. Lori would always bring a smile to someone’s face no matter what she was experiencing in her own life. Lori’s memorial and celebration of her life will be held at Temple Baptist Church June 5th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
