
Peggy (McLaughlin) Dunnington went home to be with the Lord September 16, 2014. She was born in Anthony, Kansas on August 23, 1922. She grew up near Clinton, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Olen, marrying in 1949. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1953, where they have resided since. Peggy was a devoted wife and mother, and she was a loving friend to all who knew her. Peggy was an excellent cook, hosting parties into her 90’s. Peggy enjoyed crafts, tending to her flowers, and the comradely of the “Vinewood gang”. Peggy’s family was the center of her life. Peggy was a caring, giving mother and grandmother, always doing without so others were fulfilled. Peggy never forgot a birthday or holiday and made sure everyone was included. She and Olen took care of each other for 65 years. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. Survived by husband, Olen; son, Darryl (Patty) Dunnington, and daughter, Sherry (Tony) Romero; grandchildren, Derek Dunnington, Sarah Romero, Jenny Dunnington (James MacIndoe), and Thomas (Amber) Romero, with two great-grandchildren due soon; 2 sisters, Lena (Mark) Klein and Zora ‘Sis” (Greg) Nieto, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service, Friday, September 19, 2 p.m. at George McCarthy Historic Chapel. Donations may be made to charity of your choice.
