

Marian Theresa Ortiz, our beloved mother, passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on October 29, 1940, in Trinidad, Colorado, Marian attended Trinidad High School and later met the love of her life, her late husband Albert Ortiz. They married on October 29, 1957, and built a beautiful family filled with laughter and an unbreakable bond.
Marian was the true heart of the home. She found pure joy in her family, especially in raising her four boys. She loved her daughters-in-law dearly and cherished her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Outside of her family life, she was a woman of many passions. She was an avid reader, found peace while admiring her flower gardens, and was a spirited fan of the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. She also loved the game of golf, particularly following the career of Tiger Woods. Marian touched countless lives with her generosity and hospitality, teaching everyone around her how to live life to the fullest. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends who all cherished her warmth and her beautiful smile.
Marian is survived by her four sons, Albert (Frances) Ortiz Jr., Ken (Cathy) Ortiz, Glenn Ortiz, and Paul Ortiz; her grandchildren, Albert Ortiz II, Michael (Maggie) Ortiz, Paul (Colby) Ortiz, Myrissa (Eric) Boudreaux, and Kenny Ortiz Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Mariah (Eddie) Montelongo, Isaiah, Abriah, and Luciano; and her great-great-grandchildren, Alahni and Mateo. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Rosales, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ortiz; her parents, Jesus and Nora Flores; her in-laws, Luciano and Celia Ortiz; and her sisters, Josie (Louie) Valdez, Mary (Rudy) Morales, Julia (Emilo) Martinez, Margaret (Ben) Fernandez, Genevive (Henry) Gettler, and Lucille Abeyta.
A funeral service will take place at 10 AM, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Imperial Funeral Home.
