Marie Ruth Jackson was born to Ceasar A. and Angie Jackson on February 17, 1933, in Coffeeville Kansas, transitioned to be with the Lord November 4, 2025. She was the third of four daughters, all who have preceded her in death, born to this union. Marie began her education in the Coffeeville, Kansas school system and attended school in Arizona and finished at Centennial High Pueblo. Marie gave her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeeville.
Marie moved to Pueblo, Colorado, and soon met and married Allen Green. From this union came two sons Allen, Jr., and Claude. The two of them made sure their sons would not only come to know the Lord but learn to serve Him and the community. Their marriage of 22 years was cut short with Allen succumbing to cancer. Marie remained a widow often reminding others that she was not alone, it was her and Jesus.
Marie studied to become a Licensed Practical Nurse which led to her working and retiring from the Colorado State Hospital, Pueblo. After leaving the State Hospital she continued serving others at several of Pueblo’s nursing and assisted living homes.
Marie was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. She worshipped and served at the Eighth Street Baptist Church for many years under the pasturage of its pastors. She served in many positions there whether in the spotlight or behind the scenes. Her efforts made lasting impressions on the members and others she connected with. Marie later moved her membership to New Bethany Baptist Church under Pastor Orville Miles and presently Rev. Cary Dupree.
Marie loved to travel, including two trips to Europe, and around the immediate area, she constantly thanked God for what He had done for her and shared her experiences and ideals with those who encountered her.
Marie was preceded in death by her father and mother, her three sisters Helen Vasquez, Leester Currington, and Euvalla Andrews, and her husband Allen Green. She leaves behind her two sons Rev. Allen Green, Jr. (Cheryl) Cibolo, TX, Claude Green (Louise), Pine Bluff, AR. Grandchildren Deadre S. Green, (Houston, TX), James TA Green (Morgan), New Braunfels, TX. Nieces Myra Currington, Phyllis Fallon, Deborah Perry, Ron Vasquez (Pueblo, CO), Marguerite Exum (Denver, CO), and Novella Currington (Fort Polk, LA).
