Marjorie Louise (Peggy) Blakeley, 87, passed away on June 14, 2024 in Pueblo West, Colorado. Peggy was a bright light that will be missed. Born in Amityville, Long Island, she was the lively and spirited daughter of Henry and Marjorie Fallot. She graduated from Baldwin High School in Long Island and attended Bethany College in West Virginia. She obtained a degree in Education with a minor in Math and Social Work. She taught middle school on Long Island for two years prior to meeting and marrying her husband, Richard Dyke Blakeley. Upon marrying Richard in 1959, she became a housewife and mother to three wonderful children. Peggy was not your usual mother. If you needed a coach, a laugh, to learn a new language, and much more, she was your person. She guided her children through life with joy and laughter. She taught us that nothing is too big to overcome. Throughout her marriage to Richard she moved to numerous states. She would always make it an adventure and never had a negative word to say about it. Upon arriving in Pueblo, Colorado, she met up with some old friends and soon made many new friends. She was a very social person. She loved to travel, shop, play cards, and do crafts. Peggy was an avid golfer. Peggy and Richard took many trips together for both fun and to play golf. During her early years, Peggy sewed all the clothes for her children and herself. She was an excellent seamstress. She taught Stretch N Sew in New York and she continued to teach it out of her house in Pueblo. She could walk into a store, find an outfit that someone liked and go home and reproduce the same outfit. Numbers were always her passion, so in 1982 she took classes and began a long career with H and R Block. She was their number one producer for many years. At the age of 60, she studied and took the test to become an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. Peggy and Dick had a passion for traveling. They went to Ireland, Italy, Alaska, Curacao, Hawaii, and many places in the US. When dad was tired of traveling, mom continued with her best friend Cookie from New York. They went to every continent together except Africa. At age 60, Peggy had open heart surgery which never slowed her down. Dad stated, “They put the energizer bunny in her chest.” Peggy could always be found in a crowd, as she was always immaculately dressed and adorned with all of her beautiful jewels. One of her favorite activities was to go shopping to find the next best outfit. Her daughter and son-in law took her every week on Saturday shopping and out to lunch. Peggy was tone deaf, but she still enjoyed the arts and theatre and socializing with her friends. Peggy also liked to bowl with her friends. The most identifying characteristic of Peggy was her laugh, which you could hear a block away. It was infectious and made you smile. Peggy never met a stranger and was always up for the next adventure. Peggy loved her family and is survived by her three children, Richard Blakeley II (Beth), Lynne Brunjak (Tom), Cathy Blakeley. She has three grandchildren, Sarah Blakeley (Rafa), Joseph Blakeley, and Blake Brunjak. She was so proud to have two great-grandchildren, Uriel Blakeley Ramos and Liana Blakeley Ramos. She has two sister-in-laws still living, Audrey Lance and Pat Fallot and multiple nieces and nephews. Peg was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Dyke Blakeley, her brother, Henry Fallot, parents Henry and Marjorie Fallot. The funeral will be at Imperial Garden Funeral Home on June 27th at 11 am. Following the service there will be a luncheon at the Primrose Clubhouse off of Outlook Blvd. Peggy was one of a kind and the mold was broke after they made mom. Rest in peace and keep on laughing.
