

Max Jimenez Jr., passed away peacefully on June 29, 2022, surrounded by dear family and friends. A life-long Puebloan, Max was born on March 23, 1927. After graduation from Central High School in 1945, he soon began service with the U.S. Army. After an honorable discharge, Max began a 42-year career at the CF&I Steel corporation.
He retired in 1985. Max and his wife, Emma ('nee Gonzales), were introduced by a mutual friend and married in 1953. Max was a strong, hardworking and humorous man. He enjoyed doing home projects, attending family gatherings, traveling, playing poker in Las Vegas and casinos in Cripple Creek and Blackhawk. He loved watching Denver Broncos games and the Colorado Rockies.
He was a member of the Eagles and he and Emma had fun attending their various parties and dinner dances.
Max was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Emma; his parents, Max Sr. and Cruz Jimenez, son, Dennis Jimenez; sisters, Annie Pierce, Esther Arriaga, Rose Spiess, Josephine Shirley and Jackie Jimenez; and brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Carmen and Leonard Jimenez.
Max leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughters, Terri (Gary) Brown and Pamela (Chris) Watson; sister, Audrey Lewis; and sister-in-law, Irene Jimenez. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Reahanna (Chad) Gonnerman, Eric (Brianna) Hoyt, Jessica (Joey) Puga, Caitlin (Eric Gostin) Jimenez and Solomon Clum; great-grandchildren, Gabby (Colby Stapleton) Jimenez, Nolan Gonnerman, Violet Puga, Jonathan Puga, Pierce Puga, Reyden Jimenez and Syris Jimenez; great-great-grandson, Cayden Stapleton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Max is also survived caregivers, "Max's Angels" who became family, Phyllis Robinson, Angie Velasquez, Patricia Armijo, Clorinda Arguello, Nellie Valles, Lauren Bosche, Natasha Albo,Tim Watkins and Mike Harvey.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Professional Home Health Care for their excellent care and compassion.
Celebration of Life for Max will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 at Holy Family Catholic Church , 2827 Lakeview Ave. in Pueblo. A reception will follow.
