

Raymond George Lutz, 86, May 2, 1928 – January 12, 2015. Visitation will be held from 6 – 7 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Imperial Funeral Home in Pueblo. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The interment will take place at the Imperial Cemetery. Ray was the miracle son born to Kilian Carl Lutz and Anna Zimmer Lutz. He is the younger brother of Robert and Anthony (Sue) Lutz. He is the brother-in-law to Bert (Mary) Metzger and Mike (Helen) Metzger. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Ray was a devoted husband to Nancy Joan Metzger Lutz. He was a wonderful father to Kathy (Steve) Bergs of South Africa, Bob (Tamara) Lutz of Denver, Pat (Dave) De Long of Rocky Ford, Dan (Susy) Lutz of Fort Collins, and Mary (Bill) Gwinn of Durango. He was a creator of memories in Waupun and Elkhorn, Wisconsin, Hahn-im-Taunus, Germany, Trinidad and Pueblo, Colorado. He was a beloved Grandad to Nicole, Sarah, Daniel, Dixie, Brendan, Rexford, and Kilian. He was known as Uncle “Grizzly Adams” to Sharon, Kevin, Paul, Brian, Tim, Marty, Michelle, M.J., Wally, Mike, and Matt. Ray was a committed Social Worker at Spanish Peaks Mental Health Center, a faithful parishioner at St. Pius X Catholic Church, a jolly Santa to hundreds of terminally sick children, a caring volunteer for Sangre de Cristo Hospice, and gave a lifetime of selfless service. Ray loved God, his family, life, people, music, food, and nature. His fingerprints will not fade from the lives he touched.
