

Raynae Elaine Wilkerson, 71, went to be with our Lord on September 14, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father Jim Smith. Raynae is survived by her husband of 53 years Jerry Wilkerson, daughters Leah Perry and Shalan Wilkerson, mother Barbara Smith, brothers Ron (special friend Susie Setter) Smith, Brett (Zulema) Smith, grandchildren Brayden Perry, Kylana Perry, Dexton (Milka) Diaz, Jillian (James) Nurre, great-granddaughter Hazel Nurre and numerous nieces and nephews. Raynae was born December 16, 1949 in Roswell, NM. She spent most of her life in Pueblo where she attended Central High School. Raynae and Jerry were married on October 18, 1968. Raynae attended Southern Colorado State College where she earned a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She went to work for Parkview Medical Center in Respiratory Therapy and moved on to attaining certificates as a Cardiology Technician. After two knee replacements, she spent her last 12 years in Admissions and Reception. On December 11, 2014, she retired from Parkview after 34 years of service. Raynae loved her husband and family. She loved her church family at Pueblo First Church of the Nazarene. She loved her dear friends Jan Larson, Jean Harmes, Sheri Alfonso, Susie Setter, Debbie Zullo and Joann Drury. Raynae loved everyone and always had the right words to say no matter the situation. She was an inspiration to all and was often told she was an angel on Earth. She is now in Heaven and at peace with our Lord. Special thanks to Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Palliative Care and Rocky Mountain Cancer Center. Special thanks to her church family and friends. A Celebration of Life for Raynae will take place at 10:00am on Friday, October 1st 2021 at the First Church of the Nazarene. Raynae's favorite color was purple. The family asks that if you are able, please wear purple in her memory.
