Roy was born on March 10th, 1940, in Trinidad, Colorado to Matilda (Lechuga) and Ernest Romero. He passed from this life into the arms of his Savior on January 5th, 2026, after a lengthy illness.
Roy is survived by his brother, Alfred, and his sister, Mary, as well as his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Roy was a surety agent and established his business, Romero Bail Bonds, that served the county of Pueblo for many years. He cared deeply about his community. Roy helped many people get back on their feet and was most generous to those in need. He never met a stranger and those closest to him can attest that he was a ray of light.
Roy "Pops" loved to fish, play Bingo, have Burger King with his grandchildren, and watch "those darn" Broncos.
He was known for making sure to always have snacks and provisions for the family. He especially wanted to let each of his family and friends know how much he loved them. If you were his Hito or Hita, you were certainly blessed.
An outdoor graveside service will be held on Monday, January 19th, at 2:00 pm at Imperial Memorial Gardens Funeral, Cremation, and Cemetery in Pueblo. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Center Toward Self-Reliance in Pueblo, Colorado.
