1941 - 2026
SHIRLEY JEAN POLAK-ABERNATHY, 84, of Pueblo, passed away on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Justus and Elizabeth Polak, her husband, Paul Abernathy and her faithful four legged companion, Amber the yellow Lab.
She leaves behind four siblings; Janet Anderson, Mary Bielby, Bob Polak and Tom Polak, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Shirley was a bank teller by occupation and after retirement spent many hours caregiving to others in need.
Shirley was an avid outdoorsman. She enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing and traveling. She was a proficient artist and loved painting and drawing all aspects of Nature.
Shirley will be greatly missed by family, friends and those who tended to her at University Park Care Center.
A viewing will be scheduled soon. Service and interment will be announced at a later date.
