

Theodore Joseph “Ted” Bueno. Born July 22, 1938. Died March 16, 2023. Preceded in death by his wife of 34 years Josephine Vialpando Bueno, his parents Alfonso Sr, and Lena Bueno, brothers Alfonso Jr, and Richard, and sister Gloria. Survived by his children Claire Bueno, and Theodore “TJ” Bueno (Chris); his wife Constance Orist and her children Michael Orist (Carole), Matthew Orist, and Mark Orist. Grandchildren Jerika Rael, Andrea Bloese-Bueno, and Noah Bloese-Bueno, his sisters Helen Elliot (Jim), Pat Montelongo (Dave), and Isabel Bueno as well as his brother Edward Bueno (Mary), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted graduated from Central High School, Pueblo Junior College, Colorado Teacher’s College also earning a Master’s in Spanish from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Ted was a professional educator. He spent 14 years in the classroom and 21 years as an administrator in the district 60 Administration Building. During those years he brought bilingual education to District 60, helped the World Language programs to flourish, mentored many administrators, and helped many teachers fulfill the needs of special programs by writing grants.
Ted was first and foremost an artist from the time that he was child drawing on scrap pieces of paper to getting his Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching certificate in Art Education. Ted won Best of Show for many of his sculptures and paintings. He won the Medaille de Vermeil in Sculpture from the Academia Europea de las Art.
One of his hobbies was gardening. His rose gardens were a beauty to behold and the envy of the neighborhood. He also loved to read and listen to music. Ted left a legacy of art, love of reading and education in his children and the students he taught and adults he mentored. After his wife Josephine passed away, he enjoyed traveling to Spain, France, Switzerland, Costa Rica and Mexico.
Services to be held on March 29, 2023. Rosary at 9:30 am with Mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Meadows Catholic Church in Pueblo, Colorado with internment at Imperial Gardens Cemetery.
