She was born in Giles County on January 7, 1947. She was preceded in death by
her parents, Oakley and Cora Beatrice Shelton Johnson, her brothers, Luke, Carthel
and Roy Norwood, her sisters, Bertha Hyatt and Luthene Wright, and her husbands, Ted
Bishop and Lonnie Taylor.
Survivors include her son, Dwight “Pee Wee” Bishop, of Giles County, TN, her brothers
Franklin Johnson, of Pulaski, and David Johnson, of GA, numerous nieces and
nephews.
A visitation for Bernice will be held Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Carr & Erwin, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM.
Bernice will be laid to rest in Bethel Cemetery, Leoma, TN.
