Mr. Smith was the son of the late Rossie Lee and Lora Sue Wilson Smith. He was a retired cabinet maker.
Visitation will be Monday February 7, 2011 from 4 until 8 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday February 8, 2011 at Carr 7 Erwin Chapel with interment in Gatlin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Haiti Mission Fund c/o Elkton Road Baptist Church, 19470 Elkton Road, Athens, Alabama 35614.
Survivors include his wife Helen Smith of Elkmont, son Michael Dennis Smith and wife Jen of Mobile, daughter Kathy Pickett and husband Duane of Athens, sisters Janice Douthit of Bunker Hill, Faye Eanes of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
