He was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on February 28, 1957, retired mechanic, he was preceded in death by his father, Johnny (Bud) Gist and a brother, Roy John Gist.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Friday, November 5, 2021, until funeral service time at 2 PM, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Survivors are: mother, Bonnie Gist, Lawrenceburg, wife, Pauline Gist, Lawrenceburg, son, Tim Smith and Daphne Eady, Lawrenceburg, brother, Jeff Gist, Loretto, grandchildren, Chris, Amanda and Chloe Smith, Makayla Brown, Makenzie and Miranda Eady, Blane and Destiny Lester.
