

Robert (Bubba) M. Haynes, 68 of Mountain Grove, Missouri, passed from this life Friday, December 24, 2010, after a lengthy illness at Meadowbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pulaski, TN. Robert was the son of Milton and Bernice Haynes of Savannah Illinois. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jim (Cleo) and his wife Vicki. He is survived by one sister; Patty (Bill) Urlaub, Ohio; 2 Sons, Anthony (Mary) Roe of Colorado Springs Colorado; Loren (Connie) Roe of Prospect, TN; 2 Daughters Robin (Henry) Lopez of Galena, MO and Claudia (Mike) Offill of Mtn. Grove, MO. 17 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, 2 nephews and 2 nieces, and many close friends.
Robert retired from Mansfield Steel (Hutchens Industries) in 2003 after 26 years. He enjoyed playing softball, fishing, and hunting. He was a member of Southside Baptist church, and a Member of the Norwood No. 622 A.F. &A.M. and Scottish Rite, 32⁰, Valley of Joplin, Orient of Missouri (SJ). He served with C Company, 1st BN, 28th Infantry (APO SF, US Army) 1964-1966 in Vietnam.
Those who knew him affectionately called him “Pops” or “Bubba” and also knew that he was often mischievous and usually up to something. During his long illness he often sacrificed his own health to serve as the primary caregiver for his wife Vicki, who also suffered from a lengthy illness during the last few years of their 33 years of marriage.
Interment will be in the Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL with Carr & Erwin Funeral Home officiating. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
