Samuel Devon Hood

Samuel Devon Hood, age 74 passed away Thursday July 16, 2015. He was born November 4, 1940 to the late Samuel Washington and Frances Vanion Nave Hood. He was a retired Carpenter as well as being retired from Timken and he was a member of the Shores Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Hood. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Glenda Evans Hood, his son Cody Hood and wife Kelli, of Anthony Hill, his daughters Tina Brumit and husband Wayne, Lynn Sumners and husband Ken, of Sumac, Melissa Cox and husband Jeff of Anthony Hill, his brothers Loyd Hood and wife Wynell of Columbia, Dale Hood and wife Linda of Goodspring, Wade Hood and wife Joyce of Pulaski, Stanley hood and wife Debbie of Ardmore, Miles Hood and wife Sally, Ricky Hood and wife Leslie of Pulaski, his sisters Dorothy Thomas and special friend Charlie Fry of Kedron, Myra Sutton and husband J. C. of Fall River, Brenda Brown of Decatur, and Martha Britton and husband Randy of Pulaski, his grandchildren Adam Brumit and wife Stella, Jacob Devon Sumners, Alana Brumit, Makenzie Sumners, and Noah Samuel Hood, and his great grandchildren Adalyn and Weston Brumit.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday July 18, 2015 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday July 19, 2014 at Shores Baptist Church with Burial to follow in Shores Memory Gardens.
