Thomas Chapman was born in Campbellsville, TN on May 29, 1933 to Cecil Wilburn Chapman and Ruby Bell Shelton Chapman. He worked as a truck driver for Austin Powders and was a member of Fatherland Baptist Church. Thomas had a zest for life whether it was working, cutting the grass, or playing Blue Grass music. He had a special talent for playing different instruments such as the guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and banjo. To Thomas, the most important thing was spending time with his family who loved him dearly. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents Wilburn and Ruby Chapman; brothers C.W. Chapman and Cletus Chapman; sister Mattie Joyner; brother-in-law Lois Tidwell.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday December 5, 2025 at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Saturday December 6, 2025 at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Thomas is survived by his son Virgil Chapman (Vivian) of Nashville; daughters Freddie Jean Brown-Burch (Richard) Hendersonville, Faye Woodall (Robby Spurlock) of Hendersonville, Brenda Winn of Goodlettsville, Judy Haggard (Mick) of Gallatin; 1st wife Peggy Chapman; brothers Charles Chapman of Nashville, Fred Chapman of Joclton, Jerry Chapman (Judy) of Nashville; sister Edith Tidwell of Lawrenceburg; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends
