

Preceded in death by son William S. Stewart, Jr. (I), daughter Glenda Ann Stewart, infant son William S. Stewart, Jr. (II), grandson Daniel McCord, and wife Edith Everett Stewart.
Born in Bolivar County, Mississippi May 19th 1927 to James and Bonnie Stewart, William lived on a cotton farm with his parents, three brothers and two sisters. He enlisted in the Army during World War II and served in Germany during the American Occupation. After returning from service William eventually met Edith and together they moved to Gary, Indiana and raised their family. He was a millwright with Inland Steel and worked there until his retirement in 1975. William and Edith moved to Lynnville, TN the next year to enjoy the peace of the country. Throughout his life he enjoyed western movies, farming, fishing and was an excellent hunter/marksman. He will be greatly missed by his family.WSS7220.
Survivors include devoted son Paul Stewart and wife Jana, Pulaski, TN; four loving daughters, Sheila Carver and husband Steve, Colorado Springs, CO, Judy Curtiss, Loveland, CO, Starla Mills and husband George, Crown Point, IN , and Edie Hyatt and husband Shane, Lawrenceburg, TN. 13 grandchildren, 24 great-granchildren. Also survived by a sister, Lula Mae Wilkerson, Cleveland, MS and a stepdaughter, Rebecca Wheelock, Kerrville, TX.
Steve Sims, Jessie Hernandez, Gabriel Hernandez, Eric Yokley, Shane Yokley, and Ryan Yokley will honor their grandfather by serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 4PM to 8PM at the Carr & Erwin Funeral, Pulaski, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be on Sunday , 8-12-2012, at 2:00pm at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Giles Memory Gardens.
