

Scott grew up in Weymouth, MA. after graduating high school, He worked with his dad at his radiator shop as well as his sub shop.
Scott met Dolores (Paradiso) his cherished wife of 48 years, opened his own radiator shop and he and Dolores made Weymouth their home for many years. They relocated for a time to East Bridgewater where Scott continued his career in the automotive industry as a Service Writer at Clay Nissan. He made many life-long friends there.
Scott’s love of the ocean was endless. Boating and fishing were two of his life-long passions. Scott's nautical expertise was just second nature. It was effortless to him.
In the early 2000’s Scott pursued and obtained his large vessel Captain’s license from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He was very proud of this accomplishment.
Scott also loved hunting and time spent at the rifle range. He was quite the marksman.
In 2007, Scott and Dolores made the move to Punta Gorda Florida, joining his father Joe and step mother Bernice. They enjoyed many happy years in their beautiful neighborhood. Scott and Dolores loved trips to Aruba and cruises. Scott spent many hours on the ocean fishing with his best buddy, Jocko. Scott made many friends in SW Florida.
Scott leaves behind his loving wife Dolores, his brothers Paul Bennett of Arizona, Alan Bennett of California his brother-in-law John (Jocko) Mastrogiacomo and his wife Christine of Punta Gorda, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Scott is predeceased by his beloved mother, Beatrice, his father Joseph, stepmother Bernice and his cherished sister, Maureen. Scott held his family very close to his heart.
Erica, Matthew, Gabe and Robert: you all grew up spending many hours with Uncle Scott fishing, boating, vacationing and spending family time. He loved, gave advice, cherished your phone calls and was so proud of you all.
Scott adored his pups. The two recent losses of his Labradoodles Lucy and Sadie were especially difficult for him.
Scott we will miss you terribly. When we think of you it will be a great memory of fishing, family gatherings and making us all laugh!

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 11am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; 211 W Charlotte Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. A Reception will follow at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home in Punta Gorda, FL. A Memorial Mass will also be held in May at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Bridgewater, Mass. Details will be updated to the obituary at a later date.
