

Betty Jo Nehser died at home in Bonny Lake, WA on Monday, August 1, 2011. Betty was born on October 27, 1939 in Chanute, Kansas. Her family moved to Washington during World War II. She graduated from West Bremerton High School in 1957 and married Eugene (Gene) Nehser later that summer. Betty and Gene lived in Seattle where Betty worked for Ronson Lighter Company. In 1959 they started their family and moved to Puyallup and later Sumner where they raised all four of their children, Susan Baudin (David), Bill Nehser (Stephanie), Tom Nehser (Margie) and Janet Payton (Scott). Betty was a homemaker until 1987 when she went back to work as a paraprofessional for the Sumner School District. She worked with developmentally challenged children for over 10 years before retiring. Betty was known for her quick wit and her gift for gab. She made friends wherever she went and maintained many of those friendships over her lifetime. Betty is survived by her loving husband Gene, her four children and six grandchildren and numerous adoring friends and family members. Memorial services to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Creator Lutheran Church in Bonney Lake, WA on Sunday, August 28 at 1:00 pm.
