

Funeral Services for Dan Lee Loftin Jr. , 97 years old, will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042 at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Loren Tucker of Puyallup Community Church will be officiating. Jim Giger will sing Amazing Grace. Dan will be buried with full military honors.
He was born in Mississippi in 1919, the youngest of four
children. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy where he served our country for 20 years both in World War II and Korea. After retirement from the Navy, he attended the University of Southern Mississippi earning bachelors and masters degrees in Elementary Education. During his 20 years in the field of education, he taught elementary
students, was a school principal and an assistant principle and coach.
After being hospitalized with pneumonia, he went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, July 18, 2016 at 6:20 a.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine M. Loftin just 10 months before. They had been married 69 years. They both attended Puyallup Community Church as long as they could.
Dan is survived by a daughter, Claudia Supensky, a son Dan Lee Loftin III, three grandchildren, Michelle Jacobsen, Chad Chapman, Dan Lee Loftin IV, and a great grand daughter, Ellie Renee Loftin.
He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed.
