

Edward John McLeary was born in Oklahoma on September 5, 1918 and grew up in and around the Wind River Mountain Range in Wyoming. Ed lived a life that was characterized by the love of the great outdoors and having adventures, both great and small. An entrepreneur, aviator, mentor and patriot, he was dedicated to his family and friends, his God and country. After serving as an Army Air Corps instructor during WWII, Ed met and married the love of his life, Lois Hanson. They raised Janis, Russ and Randy on their Rocky Ford Creek trout farm near Soap Lake, WA. Ed is survived by his wife Lois, daughter Janis (Brian, Dec.), sons Russ (Maja) and Randy (Ida), grandchildren Wes Peters, Jon Paul (Sarah) McLeary, Drew (Corinne) McLeary, Jeff (Lauren) McLeary, great grandchildren Naomi, Faith, Owen and Kenna McLeary. Dad’s love, encouragement, intellect, passion and engaging manner will be a blessing to us always. He will surely be loved and missed by family and friends. Viewing will be at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6 to 7:30 pm. The memorial service will be at Faith Covenant Church (Formerly Sumner Presbyterian) at 1915 Washington St, in Sumner, on Friday July 27, at 12:30 pm.
