

A lifelong resident of the Orting area passed away peacefully on November 20, 2011. She was born on November 4, 1912 to Orting Pioneers Emil and Ethel (Nobel)Hardtke in Orting. She attended Orting Schools, graduating in 1929. She married Robert J. Cope and had two sons, William and Robert. They had a happy and eventful life together, from owning the South Prairie Tavern in the late 1930’s to operating Tad & Keno Sasaki vegetable farm during WWII while the Sasakis were interned. They then moved to logging camps in Alaska and finally returned back to Orting, where her husband passed away in 1971. She then married her high school classmate Axel Robert Wallin. They had a wonderful life traveling the country and doing things they were unable to do during their working years. Axel passed away in 1999. Eleanor was fortunate to have two wonderful husbands during her lifetime. She was predeceased by her son Bob and all of her siblings. Eleanor is survived by her son Bill and his wife Shirley, daughter-in-law Jennifer Cope and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Services will be held at the Methodist Church in Orting on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1pm, followed by a brief graveside service and a gathering at the Eagles Hall.
