Biography –
Janeace Helen (Mackie) Feckley
Janeace (Jeanie) Helen Mackie was born September 22, 1938 to Virgil and Charlotte Mackie. She was raised in West Seattle with brothers Vernon and Clyde and graduated from West Seattle High School in 1956. Jeanie met Michael William Feckley at the White Center bowling alley where she was playing pool in 1955 - they were married not to long after on June 1, 1957.
Mike and Jeanie lived in West Seattle for 2 years and moved to the SeaTac area in 1961 after Mike returned from Italy where he was serving in the army. They had two children, Steven Michael (3/2/1958) and Kathleen Lynne (9/9/1959). Jeanie worked as a dental office manager for Doctor John Tiffany until the family moved to Phoenix Arizona in 1972.
Mike and Jeanie lived in Phoenix for 26 years where Jeanie worked as a dental office manager for Doctor Jim Sandoval for the next 21 years until she became ill with kidney cancer. Due to her health condition, Jeanie retired and her loving husband took care of her for the next 18 years. When Mike retired from Group Bull (Computer Company) in 1998, they moved to lacey Washington where they have lived for the last 14 years - except for short time when they lived with their daughter Kathleen while Jeanie was recovering from kidney cancer treatment. Jeanie delighted in her four grandchildren - hearing and watching their many activities, along with all the family gatherings.
Jeanie passed away peacefully Friday, March 2, 2012 in Lacey Washington after a long and absolutely courageous battle with multiple health issues since 1994, predominantly renal carcinoma (kidney) cancer and heart disease. Her devoted and loving husband of 55 years, Michael, took care of Jeanie with all his heart, strength and love through the many years – she could not have asked for a better husband and companion.
Janeace is survived by her son Steven Michael Feckley and family, wife Christine and children Alec and Carly, her daughter Kathleen Lynne DeKruyf Edman and family, husband Andy and children Ryan DeKruyf and Shalynne Edman and her brother Vernon Mackie. She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Charlotte Mackie and brother Clyde Mackie.
Janeace will be greatly missed by her husband, family and friends – but she is at peace with our heavenly Father and we will see her again.
