Jimmie Ray Friend Sr.

Jim Friend Sr. (Big Jim) suddenly passed away in his home in Orting, Washington where he lived for 57 years. He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia Hurling, Rosa (Larry Timberland), Santa (Tom Koppen), Jeannie Friend; son, Jim Jr. (Megan Friend), and youngest son Jamie (Karla Friend) All together he has 49 grand and great grandchildren. As a young 17 year old in the US Army in San Antonio, Texas he met his lovely bride Pauline and in 1957 he moved to Orting, WA to raise his family. He started working at the Orting gas station and then he moved onto the Orting rock quarry, finally settling on the career as a long haul truck driver for 40 years, he worked for the past 34 years for Interstate trucking distributors, he had just retired in October 2013. Jim is now going to reunite with his lovely wife Pauline Friend. Service to be held at Orting cemetery on July 7th 2014 at 1pm, with a reception to follow at the Orting Eagles. Flowers can be sent to Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup.

Dad was a great man who will be missed by many.
