

Leitha Jackson, 81, of Puyallup, passed peacefully in her sleep, April 24, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Leitha was born, the youngest of eight children, to the late Tom and Bertha Frye, May 18, 1932 in Sumner, WA. She graduated from Sumner High school in 1950. She was married to the late William D. Drury for 27 years and then to Marion Lowell Jackson. Leitha is survived by: husband, Lowell Jackson; his son Mike Jackson and wife Nona of Graham, WA.; Her three children: Son Thomas Drury and wife Jeanne of Shelton, WA; Son Dale Drury and wife Bev of Clovis, CA; Daughter Myrle (Drury) Susee and husband Al of Graham, WA; Sister, Dorothy Moody of Aberdeen, WA; Brother, Ronald Frye of Ellensburg, WA; She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Leitha was a homemaker, cannery worker, berry picker, caregiver, clerk and seamstress. Her greatest joy came from sewing, cooking, canning and of course, her dog, Pepper. She loved people and enjoyed visiting at the Senior Center where she donated her time, as well as loaves of banana bread. She handmade gloves, blankets and miniature Christmas stockings for the Old Soldiers Home and The Life Center. Memorial services will be held at Powers Funeral Home in Puyallup, WA, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014; refreshment will follow. Interment will be at Sumner Cemetery, Puyallup, WA.
