Madeline was born in Reserve Kansas in 1922. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, son Charles (Bud) Kuker, son Thomas (Tommy) Kuker, grandsons Shon Buchanan, Troy Door and numerous sisters and brothers. She is survived by one sister, Carol Iverson, three daughters; Peggy Barnes, Charline Reeder , Deborah Rupp, adopted son Charles Kuker Jr. (Bud), 5 grandchildren; Robin Hasbrouck, Stacie Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan, Jacob Rupp, Wayne (Sonny) Barnes, and 13 great grandchildren as well as three step children; Robert Heinke (Sandy), Gary Heinke (Karen), Patricia Madden.
Madeline spent the majority of her life with her loving husband Glen in the Tacoma, Puyallup area. They enjoyed and spent most of their days in their large garden at their Puyallup home. They loved to share the bounty with the family and the family enjoyed the intent of the garden (to share) and the fruit of their labor. On Sunday’s you could count on the door being open and soup on the stove. Many a Sunday the large extended family of grandchildren and son-in-laws would spend time just visiting and eating.
After the death of her husband Glen, she moved to the home of her daughter, Charline and Deen Reeder in Puyallup. The residence was everything that Madeline could ask for and also in close proximity to her family in Puyallup and Auburn. She also had the opportunity to do things and travel to places that she had dreamed of.
In 2010 it was decided they would relocate to McMinnville Oregon. The family understood the amount of care that it took Charline and Deen to keep her feeling secure, comfortable and happy. As her energy slowly ebbed the care giving intensified. The devotion and love given to Madeline will forever be appreciated by those of us that were not able to be with her consistently. Peggy Barnes, daughter to Madeline, residing in McMinnville became the neighbor and Madeline was able to enjoy their closeness before passing on Sunday, January 16, 2011.
Each of us has unique and intimate memories that we will treasure forever. Hold them near and dear to your heart.
