

Artemio P. Santiago passed away November 30th, 2024, following complications from a cardiac arrest at the age of 82. He was born in Bocaue Bulacan, Philippines and lived in Queens since he moved to the USA in 1972. Art was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was proud to be Filipino and loved to travel to Philippines twice a year. He lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.
Art was known for his light heartedness, patience, dependability, and was amazing in the kitchen. He enjoyed walking (i.e., made sure he got his 10,000 steps in daily), doing his exercises (i.e., wall push-ups, lunges, and squats), dancing, and traveling.
You could ask him on any given day, “How he was doing?”. His answer in his cheerful tone, “I’m still alive.” Although Art is gone, his memories will live on through those he encountered. He will be truly missed and never forgotten.
Art had two children, his son Alan who preceded him in death, and is survived by his daughter Nicole Furriel, as well as by his wife Marina Santiago; his son-in-law Ricardo Furriel; grandchildren, Liam and Oliver Furriel; step children Paolo and Heidi Mercado. He is also survived by Delia Santiago, his former wife and mother of his children.
A visitation for Artemio will be held Monday, December 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at R. Stutzmann & Son, 22439 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, New York 11428. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 9296 220th St, New York, NY 11428. A private cremation will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
