Gerard was born in Haiti on September 30, 1925. He was known as Gerry to his friends.
He migrated to America in the late 1950s where he met his late wife, Elise and had two children. Gerard was very proud of being the first black doorman to work at Saks Fifth Avenue. He enjoyed watching soccer, Dancing with the Stars and talking on the phone. Gerard leaves behind three children, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family and friends.
A visitation and prayer service for Gerard will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:00am -11:00am with a prayer service to follow at R. Stutzmann & Son, 224-39 Jamaica Ave, Queens Village, NY 11428.
An entombment will occur Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
