

Lolita C. Dofredo, known to friends as “Lita”, of Hollis, Queens, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at the age of 81 years. Lita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 50 years, Gilbert and her children, Evangeline (Matt) Vilardo and Melvin (Arin) Dofredo. Lita will also be fondly remembered by her five grandchildren: Michael Vilardo, Joseph Vilardo, Maria Vilardo, Kingston Dofredo and Magnus Dofredo; her brothers and sisters, Remedios (Alberto) Acquiatan, Concepcion Marata, Cornelio (Consuelo) Caser, Cristina (Henry) Dimalanta and Ernesto (Nida) Caser. Lita will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Lita was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Ernesto Marata, sister-in-law, Angelita Pantaleon, niece, Nancy Acquiatan Vun and nephews, Jason Caser and Jayson Gomintong.
A native of San Eugenio, Aringay, La Union, Philippines, she graduated from The University of the East with a B.S. in Elementary Education/Home Economics and became a teacher in San Juan Elementary School in Aringay, La Union. When she immigrated to the United States to join her husband, she later worked as an accounting clerk at St. Vincent’s Hospital up until she reached her retirement age. She enjoyed traveling back to her homeland, going on pilgrimage trips and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.
A memorial service and burial will be held in the near future. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Lolita to the Alzheimer's Association.
